It's FRIDAY!

Yesterday, Grant came to visit me at work, and it just made my day!  Mom had picked him up from the nanny to take him to the Discovery Museum, but they made a stop at my work first.  I got to show Grant off to everyone and he got to show off his cool new glasses and shoes.  He even got a Superman sticker!  (Lucky duck)  Everyone ooohed and awwwed and I felt like the luckiest Aunt on the planet :)

I got my graduation announcements in yesterday.  I was so excited when I opened them that I didn't even realize they were printed wrong until about the 4th time I read through it.  It reads:
The Faculty and Graduating Class
Lamar University
of
announce that...

Instead, it should say:
The Faculty and Graduating Class
OF Lamar University
announce that...

So I have to add that to my to do list today, call the company and get it fixed.  Woo hoo.

Also, I have a job.  It's official.  I actually have a job!  That means in 3 months, I'll be a working audiologist!  Dr. Beaty, if you will :)  Chris and I will be moving the end of May.  We won't say where on here, mainly because it's the internet.

Happy Friday everyone!

Kids say the darndest things

A couple weeks ago, I got to help keep my nephews while my older brother and SIL were out of town, attending a conference.  And because they are the cutest little boys you will ever lay your eyes on, I had to share.

Grant will be 4 soon and it seems like he learns something new every day.  His speech is really coming along and he is getting to be the little social butterfly we always knew he could be.  When he was smaller, he would glare at you, warning you that he could burst into full blown tantrum at any time if you dared touch him.  Now, he runs down the hall, looks over the banister and yells 'YES!  Aunt Clare (or M, or Paw, or Uncle Chris) is here!'  It melts my heart.  Grant loves plays, musicals, Brian Kinder and big shows at the Children's Theatre.  When I asked him who he goes to the big shows with, he told me 'Big, Big, Big, BIIIIIIGGGG Uncle Chris'  (all the while stretching his arms out further and further).  It made Chris feel great about himself :)  Grant also holds up a finger and says before going inside 'Nobody come with me, I'll be right back'  and gosh darnit, you better listen!  Also, he's got his Uncle James' music abilities, and he loves to play his guitar and dance around the room.  I just adore this kid.

Jude is 18 months old, but he doesn't believe it.  He thinks he's 2 going on 12.  He is the daredevil of the two, and he doesn't like it when you help him (even though he needs it).  He will pick up a ball, throw it at you, and then look at you with the most beautiful brown eyes and say 'Catch'.  He loves to be outdoors and it hurts his feelings when it's time to come inside.  He doesn't like to sit in his baby swing, but would rather take the risk of sitting on the big boy swing.  Oh, he'll swing in his baby swing, but only to appease you, and then after he feels like you're satisfied, he'll point and 'talk' you into pushing him on the big boy swing.  He walks around the yard and says 'tree' while touching each one.  Jude is a mover, never satisfied to sit still for too long, hence the blurry picture.  I just can't get enough of him.

Crashing Hard!

I'm so tired from the past 5 days, that I feel like I need a whole week off just to recover!

Tuesday morning I woke up with the crud, but who could have predicted that with the drastic weather changes??  So I loaded up on Vitamin C and NyQuil and by Friday I was feeling much better, which was good, because I had an interview that day!

Thursday after work, Chris and I drove over to Fort Smith.  We stayed the night at Jon and Emily's, but only after having a yummy taco salad from Blazin' Burrito with them.

Friday morning we got up and had breakfast at Calico County (that included a yummy cinnamon roll) and I got ready for my interview.  We left after my interview to come back to Little Rock because Chris had Saturday meetings for work....boooooo!!!!

Anyhow, when Chris made it home Saturday from his meetings, we went to the Clinton Library for the Peter Max exhibit.  We fell in love with Max's work about 5 years ago, and someday we vow to own a piece.
After we made the rounds at the library, we headed over to Conway for dinner at Jennifer and Joe's with Pam and Micha as well.  The boys had been talking about making the bacon explosion for a while, and so that's exactly what they did.  Chris has pictures, but you get the jist from the website.  I didn't so much like it, but the boys sure did!  We had to limit the boys to a slice or 2 so they didn't go into meat shock.

Yesterday we went to church and came home and lazed around.  We got the laundry and dishes done, watched some movies, fell asleep on the couch, and were just bums all around.  It was great!

Hope you all had great weekends as well!

Ready, Set, Change!!

Today I FINALLY got to cut my hair!!  It has been growing out for close to a year now, and it was time for it to G-O GO!  I love my new hair style and I hope you do to!  BTW, I will be donating my hair to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths program.  It wasn't quite long enough for Locks of Love.
Before

Holy crud my hair was long!

My neck can breath!!

My hair hasn't been this short since I was in the 5th Grade!  I LOVE IT!

It's a Bird, It's a Plane, No! It's a Super Kid!!

I found these super hero capes for kids on Etsy and decided to get one for Grant's birthday in April.  The only problem was that I had to get one for Jude as well, because they don't share very well.  I think these super hero capes are so adorable, so I had to share for all my friends (which is most of you) so you can make your kiddo a super hero, too!  Although, most of you could probably just whip one up on your handy dandy sewing machine, but as discussed before, I'm not that talented.

A Picture Says a 1000 Words

OK, so I'm a little behind on posting, so this will be short with tons of pictures.  Our friend Micha celebrated a birthday about 2 weeks ago, and we were invited to his birthday dinner and then games at Micha and Pam's afterwards.  We had a great time with them (as always) and played a new game, Bang!

Micha and Pam

Jennifer, Joe, and Brock

What a fun game!  We'll have to play again so I can practice my sharp shooting skills :)

Last weekend, my mom, dad, brother, sis-in-law, Chris and myself went to NWA to watch the Hogs play basketball.  The 1994 Championship team was reuniting, and Jon and Kricia bought us all tickets for Christmas, complete with a night at a hotel and dinner at Doe's!  We had a great time shopping, playing Apples to Apples, and seeing snow!!

The team had an autograph signing in the arena 2 hours prior to the game, but it was really set up poorly.  We stood in line for over 2 hours, outside, in the freezing cold waiting to get in for the autographs!  I thought I was going to have to amputate my toes they were so numb!  We got little 1994 Championship basketballs and only got 3 signatures during those 2 hours!!  But, at least we have that experience and the Hogs won the basketball game!!

Dad and Chris, sick of shopping and ready to cheer for the Hogs!

The 1994 Championship team at half time!

At the game.

After the game we had a photo op before we all headed home!
