that annoying screwdriver and wrench

I need help!  How do I get rid of the screwdriver and wrench on the side bar of my blog?  Am I the only one that can see it?  Can you see it?  What's it function?  If you have the know how, and can explain it in simple English...I'd surely appreciate it!

It just means you are in edit mode. Click on that icon if you need to edit a post, and it will take you right to the edit page. And only you can see it.
